About Cafeteria
What’s so special about this place? Mac and cheese is great. The décor is slick. It’s open 24 hours a day and surely beats the hell out of the local diner after a night out. It’s a bit pricey but you can be cost-conscious and still enjoy the meals. Full bar helps to make it even better.
The negatives? Service is always a crap shoot. Sometimes it’s great and waiters go all out to accommodate you, sometimes it suffers quite a bit. Trendy, always filled swanky-style diner tends to make you wait in line to get in and then waiters pay more attention to their hair than whether your glass is filled at all times. Tables are cramped so close that your neighbors are sure to hear what you’re saying. Might as well engage them in a conversation and call it a unique experience.
Overall rating? If you’re a true New Yorker and know what to expect from a hip spot then you’re in for a treat. If you’re a tourist (Cafeteria gets a lot of those) then welcome to New York City!
