About Amy Ruth’s

For that wholesome food that no one but your mama will make you can save the trip down South. Luckily, an Alabamian mother of 10, grandmother of 12, passed on her cooking skills to her New York grandkids. It was that inspiration and love for family and food that motivated these kids to keep their grandparents’ traditions in the Big Apple.

Now, Amy Ruth’s is a well-known Harlem restaurant with a menu to seduce the most conspicuous gourmet expert. Their chicken and waffles are known all over the city and they still make the best Cool-Aid in the city. From Turkey Meatloaf to the Oxtail Stew they boast a menu of finger-licking specials that bring in plenty of locals. Celebrities also favor their cuisine with artists like Grandmaster Flash and John Legend coming in to enjoy true American delicacies.

Friday and Saturday the spot is open 24 hours, so a 3 am packed house is a typical weekend ordeal.
