Watch out now: Beatnuts in full effect (with LES and Ju-Ju interviews)

Beatnuts have been having a good time on and off stage for almost 15 years now. Besides their production work they’ve been rocking the mic and bringing good clean fun to their fans as a part of their regular routine. Being of Latin decent they frequently infused their music with new sounds, making it a different kind of Hip Hop music. Still considering themselves first and foremost Hip Hop artists they’ve been repping Queens and doing work with the Hip Hop’s greats. From Common to Mos Def to Method Man to Akon, they have contributed to some of the music’s greats and have a dozen albums of their own to show off.

Their on-stage style is that of simply good clean fun. Ju-Ju’s outfits are just the beginning. Les’ intensity and Ju-Ju’s constantly positive attitude make them the perfect match. Their mega hit ‘Watch Out Now’ was used by J Lo in making her infamous hit Jenny From the Block. Who cares that it wasn’t quite an approved use? At the end of the day she only made Beatnuts’ song more notorious.

In the days when Hip Hop is certainly not what it used to be Beatnuts are doing a lot of things to make them stand out. Being Latin, they are on a short list with Big Pun, Fat Joe, Chino XL, N.O.R.E. and Joell Ortiz. With Big Pun gone, Fat Joe taking a more commercial route in his recent music, N.O.R.E. and Chino XL officially missing from the scene as of late and Joell Ortiz being a newcomer, there is a lot of focus on Les and Ju-Ju. As far as their style, despite strong production credits they are not taking the easy way out. Their music is not overcoming their lyrics. They combine the two and make sure to supply their fans with that almost forgotten feeling of having fun without the constant mention of drugs, hoes and bling.

Their new album is in the works right now and they see no slow down to their story.

Watch out now!
